ABOUT THE CALCULATOR
Water is a basic nutrient, without water there is no life. The animal’s body is able to survive the loss of a significant amount of fat or protein mass. However, a loss of 10-15% of water can lead to the death of an animal.
Healthy dogs should be given water as much as they need – as much as they need. However, be vigilant if you notice changes in the way you take water. Excessive thirst can be a sign of many diseases. At the same time, water deficiency can interfere with the proper functioning of your dog or cat.
USE
A healthy dog should drink as much as he wants. However, we often forget that taking too little water by a dog can disturb internal processes and negatively affect the health of the dog or cat.
The dog receives water from the outside:
- by serving it in bowls or other vessels
- Along with a meal – in every dry food, wet food or cooked meal there is a certain percentage of water.
To make it easier for you to determine the needs of your canine friends, we have created a calculator – after entering the weight of the animal and the type of meals taken, you will receive information on the minimum amount of water per day you should give outside of meals.
